Tips to having a closer walk with God

Getting to know God and have a closer walk with him is not as hard as you think. Here are a few tips to help accelerate your spiritual growth.

  • Look for the good news in the Bible about what Jesus did for you and his good plans for you.

The word gospel means, very, very good news. You can search the old testament to see the good things predicted that Jesus would do. And you can study the new testament regarding what he has done for us on the cross. Also look for the details of your new identity in Christ.

Here are a few verses that speak of the good things he has done for you.

John 10:10 (NKJV) “The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have [it] more abundantly.

John 14:13-14 (NKJV) 13 “And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. 14 “If you ask anything in My name, I will do [it.]

John 17:22 (NKJV) “And the glory which You gave Me I have given them, that they may be one just as We are one:

  • Watch pastors and teachers online that believe in miracles that have a spirit of joy, peace and who are helping people make progress in thier spiritual growth.

If you go to our discovery section of this website, you will see a pretty good list of pastors and teachers that are helping people discover their identity in Christ and grow spiritually. Most of these teachers will have have several teachings on each subject on YouTube or their own websites that really help you get the subject.

Rebecca and I went to Charis Bible College from 2013 to 2015. They have over 20 great teachers. It was the most well spent time and money of our entire lives to date. We both got set free from life-threatening health conditions. I was set free from 40 years of chronic insomnia. My life is better now than it's ever been! Whether you go to college or not, it's good to get away with the Lord and learn for yourself what he's like and how much he loves you.

Visit the discovery section of this website to find the same teachers that helped Rebecca and I grow over the past 10 years. We have more peace and joy now, and we've ever had.

  • Spend time alone with Jesus every day.

When you spend time alone with Jesus and the word, you are gradually transformed from the inside out! His word is alive and able to grow within you to displace the bad beliefs and the fears that hold us back. The more you get to know him, the more you become like him!

One way to start is to pick a bible passage that comes to mind and speak it out loud over your own life. Then meditate on that verse and just sit there with Jesus. After an hour or so, you will start to notice peace and new ideas coming to mind. This is God inspiring you and planting his word supernaturally in you! For he said "I will write my laws on your heart." This just means he will plant his truth and grace in your heart.

Revelation 3:20-21 (NKJV) 20 “Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me. 21 “To him who overcomes I will grant to sit with Me on My throne, as I also overcame and sat down with My Father on His throne.

Remember, God is always with you and in you. When you receive Jesus as your savior and Lord, you will be able to receive his blessings, protection, creativity, and the Holy Spirit that helps you understand the spiritual things of God.

Dive into the word, and your relationship with Jesus and work your way up to spend two or more hours a day, 4 to 6 days a week with him. You will find it is the most well spent time possible with priceless benefits that you will experience now in this life and the life to come!
